Kitchen¶
The kitchen role uses the order board (/{slug}/radmin/orders). With permission
it also sees the stock page.
Setting up the screen¶
- Leave the tablet or screen on the order board.
- Tap the screen once when you open in the morning; browsers do not play alert sounds on a page nobody has touched.
- Turn off the device's sleep setting so the screen stays on.
The flow¶
pending → preparing → ready
- A sound plays when a new order arrives and the card appears in the left column.
- Start preparing once the order is approved. If a printer is connected, the kitchen ticket prints at that moment.
- Mark preparing as you start — so the waiter can tell the table it is on its way.
- Mark ready when the plate is up. The table turns to the ready colour on the waiter's board.
Item notes¶
The notes on order lines are the guest's own requests: “mild”, “no onions”, “no ice”. They appear on the ticket too. Take allergy notes seriously.
Stock¶
If you have the stock permission:
- Deduct a finished ingredient immediately, or tell the owner.
- If a menu product is linked to a stock item, stock decreases by itself as it sells; manual entry is only for deliveries and stocktakes.

Common questions¶
Nothing prints. Check the paper and the cover on the printer. If it persists, the failed job shows in the print queue and a manager can retry it.
No orders on the screen. Reload the page. If it is still empty, the kitchen role may lack the “Orders” permission; tell the owner.
The same order printed two tickets. Both printers may have the “all” role. Report it to a manager.
