What the guest sees

This page describes what happens on your guest's phone. It is the one screen staff need to know in order to answer questions.

After scanning the QR

The guest scans the code on the table with their phone camera; no app to install. The page that opens has:

  • Menu — categories, a search box, product photos and prices.
  • Language picker — the languages the business enabled. The choice is remembered on the phone.
  • The other sections the business left on: gallery, about, events, contact and the map.

Because they came in through a table QR, the page is in ordering mode.

Placing an order

  1. They tap a product to add it to the cart and adjust the quantity.
  2. They can write a note on an item (“mild, please”).
  3. They press place order.

The order lands on the order board and the service screen instantly.

Order tracking

The tracking tab shows the order's status: pending → preparing → ready → served. A guest can cancel their own order while it has not gone into preparation.

Calling a waiter and asking for the bill

  • Call waiter — the table turns to the “waiter call” colour on the service screen.
  • Request bill — cash or card — you know in advance which payment method to come with.

These buttons are protected against repeated presses: a guest cannot press again within a short interval, and the screen says they need to wait a moment.

Online card payment

If the business entered its own Stripe keys, the guest pays from their phone with the pay by card button; once payment is approved the order shows as paid. See Payments

Reservations

A guest who comes in from the business page directly — not from a table QR — sees the reservation chat box: they leave a request with party size, date, time and contact details. Guests entering from a table are not shown that box.

What guests cannot see

  • Price history, stock quantities, revenue.
  • Other tables' orders.
  • Staff details.

A guest only follows their own table's orders, and that tracking depends on a table key stored on their phone. If they change phones or clear browser data, they can no longer see earlier orders — in which case the waiter shows them from their own screen.
