Payments

The Settings → Payments tab. This is where card payment from the table is enabled.

Your own Stripe account

Resto4 does not handle the money: you enter your own Stripe account's keys and payments go straight to your account. Resto4 only opens the payment screen and records the result against the order.

Setup:

  1. Open your Stripe account (stripe.com).
  2. Copy the publishable key and the secret key from the Stripe dashboard.
  3. Paste them into Settings → Payments in Resto4 and save.
  4. Make a small test payment from a table.

The secret key must stay secret

The secret key is permission to transact on your Stripe account. Do not send it over WhatsApp, do not share screenshots. A stored key is shown masked even to you — that is deliberate. If you suspect it leaked, revoke it in Stripe and generate a new one.

Payment methods

Online card (Stripe)
The guest pays from their phone. The order is marked paid and nobody has to walk to the table.
Card — terminal
The classic way. The guest requests “bill — card”, the waiter goes over with the terminal, and after payment marks paid — card on the service screen. You can add a note about the device (“terminal at the till”).
Cash
The guest requests “bill — cash”, and after collecting it you mark paid — cash. If you do not take cash, turn this option off.

What the guest sees

With Stripe enabled, a pay by card button appears on the order tracking screen; once payment completes, the order shows as paid. With Stripe disabled, the guest only gets the request-bill options.

Common questions

The pay-by-card button does not appear. Check that the Stripe keys are saved and that payment is enabled. The publishable key alone is not enough — both are needed.

Payment was taken but the order does not show as paid. The guest may have closed the payment screen. Verify the payment in Stripe, then close the table as paid — card on the service screen.

The test payment failed. Your Stripe account may not be in live mode; a real card will not work with test keys.
